Calibration and Profiling Materials

Calibration and profiling are key steps in achieving consistent, color-accurate prints. Below you will find basic information about ICC profiles and a set of reference files necessary for creating and testing them.

What Are ICC Profiles For?

A properly selected ICC profile ensures accurate and consistent color reproduction throughout the entire production process. The profile tells the printer how to mix colors to achieve the correct shade on a specific medium. Remember: every printer model, ink type, and paper type has its own characteristics – therefore, each combination requires a dedicated ICC profile.

How to Install an ICC Profile?

Windows: Right-click the profile file and select Install Profile.

macOS: Copy the file to the folder: System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.

Note: If you have a graphics application open (e.g. Adobe Photoshop), restart it after installing the profile.

Custom ICC Profiles

For users working with Solution media, we offer free custom ICC profiles – tailored to the specific configuration of printer, ink, and paper. This service ensures optimal color accuracy from the very first prints, significantly improving workflow and reducing material waste.
